Concert in the Park

Where: 200 S 100 E Pleasant Grove, UT (see map below)

When: Sunday, June 1st, 2008 @ 7:30 pm

The Pleasant Grove Orchestra is the first in Pleasant Grove's Concert in the Park summer series.  The theme is "The American West" (or something like that).  We're playing a whole bunch of pieces including a few Aaron Copland (see photo) pieces (Hoedown, Saturday Night Waltz from Rodeo, Variations on a Shaker Theme from Appalachian Spring), Armed Forces Salute, Selections from Oklahoma and others.

This concert is held at the corner of 200 S and 100 E in Pleasant Grove at 7:30 pm on Sunday, June 1st. It's an outdoor concert unless the weather forces us inside the Rec Center but it looks like it should be a sunny pleasant evening.

I hope that some of you are able to make it as it should be a fun, family friendly concert.

I don't know if anybody out there is planning on going, but just a quick reminder that the PG Messiah sing-in is this Friday (the 14th) at 7 pm at the PG High School Auditorium. There are excellent soloists and ample opportunities to sing along :)

Messiah with the PG Orchestra

Pleasant Grove sponsors a sing-a-long Messiah each December and this year it's December 14th at 7 pm in the Pleasant Grove HS Auditorium (700 E 200 S in PG). With the construction that is going on at the high school, you will need to enter on the west side which is right outside the auditorium. It is a sing-a-long on selected choruses so bring your copies of the Messiah if you have them and join in!

PG Orchestra Concert on October 26th

I decided to join the Pleasant Grove Orchestra this season and we have a concert this Friday. It's at 7pm in the Pleasant Grove High School auditorium (200 S 700 E) if you're interested in coming. It's not the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, or even the Utah Symphony, but it's free and it should be a decent concert. The program is as follows:

Dvorak's New World Symphony
Beethoven's Overture to the Creatures of Prometheus
Pachebel's Canon in D
