First Day of School

Tyler started half-day Kindergarten at Northridge Elementary this Fall.  Jennifer was the only one without a video camera when she dropped off Tyler.  Jennifer walked him in to his classroom even though Tyler said he could do it himself.  He’s been doing well and enjoyed his day as “King”.  He’s made lots of new friends, including Katherine his car pool buddy.

Alex started pre-school at Funshine Learning Center.  He goes twice a week.  He loves coming home and showing off what he made that day.  His teacher said that he’s a very intense colorer.

While the boys are enjoying school, Jennifer now gets two days a week with just Edison around.  While Edison is more than enough to keep anyone busy, she’s enjoyed having some quieter-ish time.

Oregon Vacation

I took the boys to visit my family in Oregon. My sister flew from Portland to SLC and then drove back to Portland the next day with the boys and me. The boys weren't used to so much nature and so much walking. We fed ducks and went to the zoo. They only liked the animals from a distance but really liked seeing zebras and crocodiles. Then we went to the childrens museum where their favorite thing was digging in the recycled tire bits. The only thing I took pictures of was us at the beach. They had lots of fun there. Tyler made a lot of sand angles, but the favorite activity was running away from waves until Alex fell and the wave got him.

Happy Birthday Tyler

Tyler turned 5 years old!  We had a party for him with some of his friends.

Getting ready… we set up our front room (which doesn’t really get used yet as we have no furniture for it) as the activity room.  Tyler and Alex got Nerf dart guns from Aunt Julia and Uncle Eric for Christmas so we used felt to create planet, asteroid and star targets for a little target practice game.  We also did spoon relays and other races.

Balloons to represent the planets of the solar system.

Surprised faces!

Opening presents!

Everybody with the present they got for Tyler.

Cake!  Jennifer did a great job putting together a solar system cake for Tyler’s birthday.  Everybody got to pick a planet (or part of the sun) to eat.

Christmas

We have a tradition of giving the boys pajamas that they open on Christmas Eve and wear that night for Christmas morning.  Here they are in their matching pjs.
